A/8 RELEASES PULSING NEW SINGLE “PROMOTOR” FROM SOPHOMORE ALBUM “TRANSFORMER”
New Haven, CT (February 2021) - A/8 has released the first single “PROMOTOR” from his forthcoming sophomore album, TRANSFORMER. The song offers a glimpse of what’s ahead on the electronic industrial dance album-- that is, a departure from the artist/producer/label founder Alon Gordon’s trance based and experimental first LP, ELEMENTS. The new single is out now on Alotronic Records, streaming digitally on all platforms.
“PROMOTOR” is an up-tempo romp, with arpeggiators pulsing urgently under a heavily processed spoken-word vocal. The new music marks a metamorphosis for the electronic artist and producer, traversing terrain previously unexplored by A/8, including vocals as well as collaborations with other artists. The club-ready industrial/edm single’s synth riffs and thumping programmed drums give a respectable nod to NIN, Ministry and Static-X.
TRANSFORMER, is currently set for release in the fall of 2021. It promises to be both an aggressive and a reflective album. A/8's signature blend of techno, drum and bass, and classical elements takes a more structured form across the new album, which centers on a quest to find meaning in an increasingly depersonalized world.
